Unwanted Guests

Talberon, We have pushed back another assault by the Dark Mares in the Edgeward Barrows. Interestingly enough, your “Realm Watch” was absent. Such attendance does not bode well for “the Realm” when their protectors are caught with their garments down. Time and time again, I have said that the Vanguard can handle any threat thrown at it. We are fully capable of defending our City. Do not forget that you and your people are mere ‘guests’ in our home – guests which seem to have worn out their welcome. Also, one of my informants tell me that these attacks may be related to activity from your little cult at the abandoned murderers’ den at the end of the Barrows. It’s in your best interest to take your people on another trek into the Rifts and find a more suitable ‘realm’ before they are cut down by the Vanguard’s sword. The people of Underlight have grown rather irritated of your presence. Leave. Also, take that impostor you seek to pass off as my wife with you. She will be the first Idoaclesian causality if her presence continues with in the City. Submitted, Zaxun, General of the Illuminated Vanguard

Broken Alliances

Talberon, You have overstepped your boundaries. How can you appoint positions of authority to a place that is not your home? We have welcomed you with opened arms and now you seek to police us and make veiled threats against us if we interfere in your plans. Your arrival into the Dream has caused quite the chain of events. You have destroyed your own Dream and proceeded to our home while leaving a trail for your pets to follow and set their sights upon Underlight. We are threatened by a bunch of cultists and zealots from your ranks while your group continue to indulge in questionable experiments in our lands. You come and go into the Rifts at your whim and bring back sensational tales and dead dreamers. You even hold one of our own hostage as she struggles to hold onto the dreamstate. Maybe Zaxon was right. Maybe we have been far too courteous to your faction. We do not recognize this Realm Watch. It is modeled after one of the most corrupted groups that ever existed in our history. Release Sabriela and let us tend to her or we will breach your camp and retrieve her personally. This is a request, please do not allow it to escalate any further. Respectfully, Xun’rok, Knight Commander, FreeSoul Templars

Watch of the Hour

Citizens of Underlight Be advised that I have been appointed by Master Talberon as Captain of the Realm Watch. We, as members of the Realm Watch, have taken the sworn oath to protect the Realm of Underlight from any and all threats encroaching upon our home. Our realm cannot sustain the continuous internal schism brought on by the Templars and the Vanguard. The formation of the Watch is necessary given the negligence and ineffectiveness of your respective factions as defenders of this realm. The division of your ranks is costing the Realm greatly and we must not allow it to continue as citizens and protectors of Underlight. We have provided your respective leaders with ascribed copies of the Realm Watch’s charter which outlines our purpose, mission, protocol, and other pertinent information. The charter we present you is similar to that of your previous City Guard as found within your own records in various tomes within the libraries. We will accept representatives of your own factions for membership with the condition that the protection of this realm is paramount above all personal beliefs. Additionally, we have identified several enemies of the Realm. They are as followed: The Hota are the sworn enemies of all realms within the Realmscape. They are responsible for the destruction of several realms including that of the Idoaclesian people. Their approach upon Underlight serves as declaration of war and will be met with relentless resistance by the Realm Watch. The Kadatorii, known to your populace as “Dark Mares” share a violent history within the walls of the Realm of Underlight. We have researched their kind within your records. Your records speak volumes of the Kadatorii and the great destruction in their wake. We have identified them during various scouting missions into the Rifts. We have also identified several other creatures and entities within the Rifts. However, we are still gathering more information and research before we determine their motives and intent. The Realm Watch will not be hindered by neither the FreeSoul Templars nor the Illuminated Vanguard in our oath to protect this Realm against the external threats lying just beyond our walls. Regards, Dosoman, Centurion of the Realm Watch

Blurred Lines

Fools, You dare make a request for my time using deceit and treachery? My wife perished many cycles ago by your hands, you traitorous cur. And now you seek to play games with me by tarnishing her memory? I will not be duped by your obvious attempts at deception. You will not make a mockery of my beliefs. You are just as responsible for her death as those Arretians were many dreams ago. The sin is equally shared in your failure to protect her as your oath demanded of YOU. It was my people that lead the charge against the Arretians and expelled them once and for all from our City. The same will be true for you and your Idoaclesian rabble and the pretender you dare pose as my fallen wife. She died with honor. Do not rob her of it, dog. The Vanguard is more than capable of handling the likes of you murderous FreeSouls, the Idoaclesian rabble, and the Hota. If you do not stand with us than you stand against us. The sword of the Vanguard will cut down all traitors and murderers of the innocent that would stand in our path. Sooner or later, you will see the “light”. Whether in your dreams or in death, you decide. Submitted, Zaxun, General of the Illuminated Vanguard

Long Lost

Zaxon, Talberon desires an audience with you. His scouts were attacked by members of the Vanguard upon setting foot in the Basin lands. Many of the unarmed dreamers in his scouting party were badly injured including a traveler they encountered during their expedition by your people. She claims she is from our Dream, Zaxon. She speaks of memories from our past but struggles to recall recent events. You must meet with her, Zaxon. She calls out for you by name during fleeting moments of consciousness. Her injuries are grievous and perhaps beyond the abilities of Talberon’s people. Cease your hostile actions, Zaxon and drop this war. Every battle you wage upon us and the Idoaclesians only serves to weaken us as a whole against the Hota threat. Zaxon. Sabriela dreams. She dreams once more, my old friend. Respectfully, Xun’rok, Knight Commander, FreeSoul Templars
